Objective: Michael Egwuagu, also known by his stage name Ify, is a former pro football player who has found his calling as a music artist and entrepreneur. He also yearns to give back both through action and inspiration. Due to his football days and music career, he already has a five figure Instagram following to his name, but hasn’t given the strategies to leverage that following to be the type of “influencer” he aspires to be - real, inspirational, motivational - much real thought. The photos from this shoot are to help him get a foundation of on-brand content to post. We also spent time over multiple days talking about his philosophies towards his personal brand, content strategy, and how to be an influencer on his own terms.

Location: New York, NY

Date: February 11, 2019

Objective: Marcus Peterson is a model based in LA who was in New York for Fashion Week. Marcus is also a hopeful NFL wide receiver and I knew him from his time with The Spring League. In his first visit to NYC, I was able to secure a photoshoot for Marcus that I curated. We shot in Chelsea, NYC - mostly on the High Line. The content was ultimately created for use on Footaction’s social media channels.

Though Spring League's main product is in the Spring, they put on a number of “Showcases” throughout the year around the country. I served as the League's official photographer at all practices and then worked daily to produce as many images as possible for use by the league, the league's partners, and the players to utilize.

Objective: DJ Era is a Footaction influencer who is based in Atlanta. While he was in New York City, where Footaction is headquartered, the brand wanted to shoot him in some outfits that they could use to both promote product on social media, as well as their relationship with Era.

bottomless closet emerging leaders kick off event

Location: Geary Contemporary, New York, NY

Date: November 1, 2018

Objective: Bottomless Closet is a non-profit organization that helps disadvantaged women in NYC enter the workforce and achieve success through resume building, interview prep, and wardrobe improvements. The organization launched its Emerging Leaders Council in November 2018 to attract younger donors and volunteers. I was responsible for capturing the event held at a contemporary art gallery in SoHo.

Objective: Zach wanted to capture the moments after his proposal to Rebecca, but as one of Rebecca’s good friends, my presence would have blown the surprise so I took care of reaction shots and posed shots during the celebration. I also edited the photos from another photographer of the actual proposal (those photos are not included here).

Date: July 23, 2018

Objective: Goldstick Lighting Design was responsible for lighting the first Chelsea Piers offshoot in Brooklyn. The lighting featured in this upscale gym includes the reception/lobby area, two floors of gym area, the pool, locker rooms, yoga/pilates rooms, and restaurant area.

Objective: The Spring League is an elite developmental league and scouting event for professional football talent. The Spring League's main product is in the Spring but in the middle of the summer, they put on a one week version of the League called The Spring League Showcase. I served as the League's official photographer at all practices and then worked daily to produce as many images as possible for use by the league, the league's partners, and the players to utilize.

Location: Brooklyn Bike Park, Williamsburg, Brooklyn, NY

Date: June 21, 2018

Objective: The 4221 Project is a Brooklyn-based handcrafted wood furniture and skateboard company. With its roots in skateboarding, the company's founder, Ben, wanted to make sure that he had content ready for #GoSkateboardingDay. Brooklyn Bike Park is located right next to the recently completed Domino Park and includes a pump track for bikers and skaters alike. There was also a BMX event going on that day so I was able to capture some riders mid-flight, as well.

Location: Private Residence, Union Square, New York City

Date: June 7, 2018

Objective: Music on the Inside (MOTI) is a non-profit organization that connects incarcerated youth with musicians. In its third year, the organization is trying to expand its current network of friends and benefactors. This event was hosted at a private residence near Union Square in Manhattan and included a jazz band, speeches from select board members, and networking.

Location: Lincoln Center, New York, NY

Date: February 10, 2018

Objective: Evan wanted to propose to Alyssa in Lincoln Center with a view of the place they met: Fordham Law School. I walked through the process with Evan in the week before so that by the time the proposal went down we'd know exactly what was going to happen. The rain cleared out the plaza at Lincoln Center and it stopped just in time for an umbrella-less proposal.

Objective: Goldstick Lighting Design is responsible for the ongoing updates to the lighting systems at this church in Westchester County. With the Sanctuary portion of the project complete, Goldstick Lighting chose to capture images of the company's work as each deliverable of the Church is completed.

Objective: Music on the Inside (MOTI) is a non-profit organization that connects incarcerated youth with musicians. Because MOTI was founded by the same woman, Alina Bloomgarden, who founded Jazz at Lincoln Center, the organization has access to and the support of many well known professional jazz musicians. Walter Blanding is a saxophonist who sat down with the organization for a photo shoot and interview regarding his own history and relationship with music.

Objective: The 4221 Project is a Brooklyn-based handcrafted wood furniture and skateboard company that is testing the feasibility of launching classes to teach people how to make skateboards from scratch. The objective of the shoot was to provide the 4221 Project with imagery of their first test classes to provide assets with which they can build their website.
